A Short Span Of Perseverence

Editors Note: I have nearly doubled the capacity and features to this site. It now comes in at just over $13 per month Canadian Dollars. Absurd really, considering just how much can be done, for so little! ~GJH

Todays Learning Curve

To enable Spirit Contribs to access the media library I need to learn how to create users and assign them AWS IAM Login credentials and grant permissions to allow read/write privileges in selected S3 storage buckets..

There's nothing quite like spinning around in the Clouds of Amazon Web services.
Ahhh...Okay, so we got Amazon Web Services S3 Buckets.... How do we use them?

As simply as I can put it.

The local library has limited shelf space and books can only be added and removed by one person. Also, the larger the book shelf, the longer it takes to find anything. And eventually the librarian gets overwhelmed and refuses to  even go look for the book. S3 buckets are like renting extra shelf space in a library closer to those that need access to it. Each Contrib becomes their own librarian and has authority over what is added or subtracted from their shelf and who may check out their collection. Buckets are bottomless shelves. They aren’t free but they are very affordable. And very user freindly.

S3 means, Simple Storage System and it actually is for those  granted the required permissions to manipulate. Spirit Contributors will be assigned necessary admin privileges to both SpiritsAbound local site and AWS S3 and other resources as may become implemented.

The dreaded visual from AWS...... For me there's still a lot of 'You Can't Get To there From Here...' AWS Protects your shit if you really want them to.

For that matter, even if you don't want them to.

Currently, they are even protecting me from ... well me. lol.

ALRIGHTY THEN...............

Bucket Access System for Spirit Contributors Has Been Established. This removes a Major Hurtle For Spirit Collection Media Resources and Post Archival Capabilities.

After a couple of hours figuring out how to grant access it only took another hour or so to convince AWS that I have administrative authority to grant it.

And with that, I believe SpiritsAbound will 'Go At Throttle Up!'
